EFATS2022 2nd International Conference on Emissions Free Air Transport Through Superconductivity Website Registration Description Second in the industrially-oriented conference series on the application of superconducting and associated technologies to air transport, aiming to identify engineering and commercial challenges and opportunities. Superconducting technologies – in particular superconducting power systems and electric motors – are likely to be key to the electrification of larger and / or longer-range aircraft. Registration Registration is now open. Please register now; details here, register on the EFATS page of EventBrite. Rates are available for staff and students, in person or virtual. An Early Registration discount is available until 20 July 2022. Introduction Superconducting technologies – in particular superconducting power systems and electric motors – are likely to be key to the electrification of larger and/or longer-range aircraft. The application of these and associated technologies such as hydrogen fuel are at a very early stage, but the potential is clear. Research and development into all the relevant technologies are underway. As they progress towards deployment over the next couple of decades, the conference committee is keen to see knowledge about the different projects shared, to help identify the scientific, engineering, commercial, and operational challenges both aircraft and infrastructure need to overcome. At the same time, we wish to highlight the significant commercial and engineering opportunities throughout the supply chain, from component manufacturing through to OEM, support, and operations. Finally, we hope to help foster and develop collaborations and investments to deliver, in time, the aim of electrified air transport at any scale. Dates and Venue 30 and 31 August 2022 Golden Jubilee Hotel, Glasgow, UK Online participation will be available, full details to be decided Aims We intend the conference to: Draw a global program of speakers on many subjects Inform the audience of the latest developments Stimulate engagement between interacting subjects Foster and develop collaborations across research, industry, government, regulators, and finance Key Dates Early registration deadline 20 July 2022 Conference Date 30 and 31 August 2022 Share This Event facebook twitter linkedin Email Date & Time Tue, August 30, 2022 – Wed, August 31, 2022 Add to calendar Location Glasgow, Scotland Glasgow, Scotland
