Opening of ASC 2024 - Applied Superconductivity Conference

Luisa Chiesa, Chair of the ACS 2024 Conference, warmly welcomes the event, which was held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Following the Chair's thanks to Technical Program Co-Chairs Tiina Salmi (Tampere University, Finland) and Hélène Felice (CEA, France), ELEVATE Chair Anna Fox (NIST, USA), and the 2024 Sponsors list, the co-chairs introduced the technical program.

Highlights of the conference include five plenary talks from Darby Dunn (Fusion), Kazumasa Iida (Iron-based Superconductors), Ezio Todesco (Accelerator Magnets), Ken Segall (Neuromorphic Computing), and Alex Gurevich (Future Superconductors). Thirteen special sessions were presented, including four memorial sessions and three cross-category special sessions.

The ELEVATE Schedule comprised live storytelling featuring The Story Collider, a collaborative trivia challenge lunch, an early career plenary session, and the IEEE CSC Young Professionals networking event.
