Chirag Goel Biography Chirag Goel is a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Houston, under mentorship of Prof. Venkat Selvamanickam since 2021. He completed his Master's in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2020. From 2020 to 2021, he worked on the position as Researcher 2 in the Energy and Device Fabrication Lab at the University of Houston led by Dr. Selva. Chirag's research focuses on thin film fabrication of long-length high-temperature superconductors (REBCO) using Advanced MOCVD. He has co-authored ten published refereed papers in renowned journals such as Superconductor Science and Technology and IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity. He has long been fascinated by the nuclear fusion reactions that power the sun and stars and has been driven to replicate a similar process on Earth. Chirag's work holds promise for groundbreaking advancements in materials science and energy technologies. He also serves on the ELEVATE team of Applied Superconductivity Conference- ASC 2024 Program Committee. As an active IEEE Student member, he volunteered in organizing the CCA 2023 held in Houston. Before embarking on his academic journey, Chirag held the role of Design Quality Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in India from 2014 to 2018.
