Chairmen's Welcome

We are pleased to invite you to attend the virtual 15th European Applied Superconductivity Conference, which begins on September 5, 2021. The duration of the conference will be specified after the clarification of a virtual format. The conference headquarters are located in Moscow, Russia. EUCAS is a worldwide forum for scientists and engineers. The conference provides an ideal platform to share knowledge and the most recent advances in all areas of applied superconductivity: from large-scale applications to miniature electronics devices, with a traditional focus on advanced materials and conductors. The broad scope is at the same time a challenge and an opportunity to foster novel, inter-disciplinary approaches, and promote cross-fertilization among the various fields of applied superconductivity. Despite the forced virtuality due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Scientific Programme Committee has taken up this challenge and is devising a diverse and exciting Programme. The Programme will consist of plenary sessions, focused and special sessions, and oral and poster presentations. In line with the tradition of conferences on applied superconductivity, and following the successful experience, all papers presented at the conference are eligible for submission to a peer-reviewed special issue of IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity. On behalf of the ESAS Board, the Local Organizers, the Programme Committee, and the many volunteers who are helping to arrange for the conference, we welcome you to virtual Moscow in September 2021.
