René Flükiger oral history image

CSC is actively engaged in developing an oral history of applied superconductivity; so far 31 members of the community have been interviewed by historians of the IEEE History Center. Every 2 months we will highlight one of the oral histories that have been completed and posted by the IEEE History Center.

René Flükiger has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of superconducting materials and conductors. Working mainly at the University of Geneva and at Karlsruhe, he studied the metallurgy and structure of a variety of superconductors, and then applied that knowledge to the production of superconducting wires and tapes.
