CSC Activity | Wed, Feb 17th, 2021 facebook twitter linkedin Email The IEEE CSC has added the new role of VP Global Relations to our list of Officers, and I have the honor and pleasure to be appointed for that role starting in 2021. I believe that CSC has grown a lot in recent years, not only because it is continuing to be the catalyst of important international events in the field of superconductivity, but also thanks to the far-sighted work of the Council Presidents. They have pushed and supported the creation of new chapters throughout the world, and sponsored new initiatives, such as student awards and workshops, tutorials, and summer schools in the field of superconductivity. It is not easy, with the pandemic, to talk about connecting with each other, especially on a global scale, but I am sure that soon we will be out of this very bad situation and will start traveling and meeting in person again. Many researchers from South America, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East are less represented or involved as volunteers in the CSC. My goal will be to contact and visit them, illustrating the benefits and opportunities of being part of our community, and learning how they can contribute to make our community healthier, stronger, and more representative in the long run.
